that which frightens us - a look into the artists

Presented in partnership with Commissioner, this short film offers an intimate look at the artists of that which frightens us and their relationship to making work in Miami.

Featuring David Correa, Genesis Moreno, Richard Moreno, and Luna Palazzolo-Daboul (Commissioner Season Seven artist), the film centers on their shared presence at Tunnel Projects, the artist-run studios in Little Havana.

that which frightens us is on view at PRIMARY through January 30, 2026.

About the exhibition
In pursuit of “the all-different” — lo de todo diferente — our absolute Other, that which cannot be reasoned or reconciled, we turn to Vilém Flusser as a lens. He describes the “unarticulated” as Nature, God, or the world itself: that which perplexes us, and in doing so, frightens us into thought — into language, philosophy, and form.

Film by Juan Luis Matos and Andres Gimenez.

With gratitude to the artists, Tunnel Projects, and New World School of the Arts.
Special thanks to YoungArts, the national organization supporting artists with lifelong resources toward resilient and sustainable practices.
