Typoe Gran, Portrait - 2025
Typoe Gran (b. 1983, Miami FL) is a Miami-based multidisciplinary and mixed media artist whose work exists at the intersection of play, ritual, and mortality. Drawing from Fröbel Gifts—educational materials for young children originally designed by Friedrich Fröbel—he reconfigures simple building blocks into forms that mediate cycles of growth, decay, and transformation. Across murals, paintings, and monumental public sculptures, Typoe creates spaces where intimate gestures and urban interventions coalesce, inviting reflection on the delicate interdependence of life, memory, and culture.
His work has been presented at Crystal Bridges Museum (Bentonville, AR), Locust Projects (Miami, FL), Public Art of UH System (Houston, TX), Artis–Naples (Naples, FL), and Faena Art Center (Buenos Aires, Argentina), as well as the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts (Miami, FL) and The Underline Sculpture Garden (Miami, FL). His work is included in the permanent collections of the Andy Warhol Museum (Pittsburgh, PA) and the Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) (Miami, FL).
